What is a Multimedia Presentation?
Unlike a typical presentation a multimedia presentation is one that uses some form of media. The 5 main elements of multimedia are text, photos, sound, video, and animation. Your presentation does not have to have to use all of these to be classified as a multimedia presentation.
Text
Text is a very essential component being its one of your main ways of providing information. Being that this is such an important part, it is vital that it is as easy as possible for the reader to be able to comprehend what is being said. This is where font choice comes in. Fonts are either serif or sans-serifs fonts. Typically serif fonts are used for large chunks of body text because the serifs are meant to increase readability. Sans-serifs are able to be used elsewhere like titles for example.
Photos
Images can be used for a multitude of reasons. They can be used as a way of conveying information as well as a good way to provide examples of whatever it is you are speaking on. A visual connection is usually very good for the audiences understanding.
Video
Video captures an event that occurs of a time span. It break it down in to frames and is then saved that ways. It is another effective means of presenting info.
Animation
Animation is similar to video but not the same as in the aspect as to how its processed. While video is later converted into frames, animation starts in of working in frames.
Sound
Audio is important when it comes these types of presentations. Many types of audio files exist but MP3 has become the main used format. They’re great in almost every aspect except that there can be loss in quality. Usually only when playing them on machines that natively use a different audio format.
