Landing pages

What is a landing page?

A landing page is a single page that appears on a website/service that serves the main purpose of very briefly advertising to the consumer. It lets you know in a very quick and efficient manner what they do, and likely how you can get whatever it is they’re offering. A landing page shouldn’t be very crowded and should only provide information that is essential to the user at the given moment.

What makes a good or bad landing page?

Like stated above, a landing page should be relatively simple and provides only necessary information. It shouldn’t be overly busy and crowded with information. Putting too much on the landing page becomes cumbersome and overall inconvenient for the person viewing. It can even be somewhat disorienting and makes it difficult for them to access/explore the website in general. By making the landing page simple and tot he point it becomes much more clear what it is you and/or your company does and how it would benefit them.

Some general mistakes are include overcrowding, and the website having no focus. The purpose of the landing page is to somewhat welcome the user and direct them as to where they need to go. Without this it can make the experience a lot more confusing for them,
